Chip component rework

Chip resistors, capacitors, and inductors are often referred to as chip components in SMTmanufacturing. Chip components can be reworked using a common antistatic soldering iron, or a dedicated clamp soldering iron can be used to simultaneously heat both ends.

The process of repairing the Chip component is as follows:

A. Prepare the repair tool and dressproperly

B. Set the welding temperature

C. Cleaning the tip of the iron

D. Heating the pads that need to remove components

E. When thesolder is melted and the components are removed with tweezers.

F. Use the tin wire to remove excess solder from the pad and clean the pad with alcohol

G. Place components

H. Apply flux

I. One end of the welded chip component

J. Solder chip component at the other end

K. Inspection

L. After the welding is completed, the soldering iron is maintained.
